TRX SUMMIT 2024

In July 2024, Bravo Group hosted its very first TRX SUMMIT in Tokyo, marking a significant milestone since launching the TRX business in Japan. The event welcomed around 70 participants. Special guests included Grant, International Director APAC, and Aaron, the creator of YBell. They introduced cutting-edge training programs using the latest TRX tools, helping to deepen engagement with the Japanese TRX community.

SPORTEC 2024

SPORTEC, held in Tokyo, is Asia’s largest tradeshow dedicated to the fitness and wellness industry. In 2024, it welcomed over 35,000 visitors, drawing a diverse mix of sports and fitness companies as well as international attendees. Bravo showcased a dynamic booth combining TRX and Myzone, featuring hands-on training sessions using TRX Suspension Trainers and YBell, as well as interactive Myzone challenges. Over the three-day event, the Bravo booth drew a large number of visitors and stood out as one of the most energetic and engaging exhibits.

Q&A with Grant Twible

How did your company first become interested in the Japan market?

TRX first became interested in the Japan market around 2010 & opened a direct subsidiary entity "TRX Training Japan" in 2011. While this company initially grew successfully in the early years with the growth of the Japanese fitness market, it remained a small scale operation that required unique support for the Japan market. It was determined to transition the Japan market to a distributor model in 2023 with the acquisition of TRX International by JFXD.

What do you think are some of the most challenging aspects of doing business in Japan?

The size of the Japanese fitness market is significant by international metrics & growth prospects remain strong. It is dominated by a few large commercial gyms chains & supplied through a select network of global fitness companies largely with direct subsidiaries in Japan.

While the Japanese fitness market looks outward to the international fitness market for innovation & direction, it requires that these product & services are delivered as a uniquely authentic, translated & localized Japanese experience. The Japanese market values fitness product quality, durability & efficiency; demands strong sales service, product detail & knowledge; & looks to partners & brands that can sustain consistent supply & a long term relationship.

What made you decide to do business with Bravo?

The combination of Bravo's 25+ years experience servicing the Japanese fitness market & a shared mission with TRX of being a "movement based company".

Bravo Group was uniquely positioned to represent TRX to the Commercial Fitness Sector; Prosumer & Education Sectors; & directly to the Consumer Fitness Sector.

In 2025 Bravo is continuing to grow TRX business capabilities & sales across many channels & into new segments in the Japanese fitness market.
